We’re all familiar with Gmail, but if you’re a business user, you’ve probably also come across Google G Suite at some stage.

What is G Suite, exactly?

More than a decade ago, Google introduced Gmail their first cloud-native productivity app to help make email safer and more comfortable for everyone. Since then, they pioneered more ways for teams to collaborate in real-time with products like Google Calendar, Docs, Drive and Hangouts. Together, these apps make up G Suite, the google's set of intelligent, secure productivity and collaboration tools.

Typically, people see G Suite as the competitor for business productivity tools like Microsoft Office 365 and Zoho Workplace.

Being the cheaper option for business productivity tools along with the trust of Google has made it popular with millions of small-to-medium businesses worldwide. Higher-level plans offering advanced archiving, security and administrative features have also made it an attractive choice for larger enterprises.

Over the last ten years, G Suite has grown to provide more tools, functionality and value to help businesses transform the way they work. The one thing that hasn't changed over this time was price.

This recent price rise has left many potential new customers wondering: is G Suite still an affordable option? What exactly do they get in return, and is the new pricing justified?

Find out as we take you through everything you need to know about the new G Suite pricing, to help you make a decision.

G Suite Pricing: How much does G Suite cost?

Starting on April 2, 2019*, G Suite offers three main plans: Basic, which costs INR 210/user/month and comes with 30GB of Google Drive storage; Business, which costs INR 714 /user/month and provides unlimited storage and extra security and admin controls; and Enterprise, with unlimited storage and advanced controls, which costs INR 1650 /user/month.

The new pricing can be manageable if you’re a smaller business with just few users.

If you’re a mid-large sized business, running your entire team’s email, storage and productivity tools out of G Suite the new price would slightly increase your budget.

Still, you might find it’s worth it, if what you’re getting for that price meets your business’s requirements. So let’s take a look at what tools and features you get access to on each G Suite plan.

What’s Included in Each G Suite Plan?

Each G Suite plan will give you access to your email account and all the G Suite productivity and collaboration tools. The main differences lie in storage allowance, security features, and the level of administrative control you have over these products.

Use case for G Suite Basic

This plan would suit you if:

  • You’re a freelancer, individual or small business owner who manages a small team (i.e., less than five employees).
  • You want an email address on your custom domain.
  • You want to run your office tools out of Google.
  • You don’t work with large file formats and don’t need a considerable amount of space to store files and emails.
  • You don’t need archiving for your emails and chat messages, or advanced admin and security controls.

However, if you have a bigger team and don’t think the 30GB of personal storage will cut it, then it’s worth considering one of the higher plans.
